Candy Candy (????????????) es un manga japonés escrito e ilustrado por Ky?ko Mizuki, uno de los seudónimos de Keiko Nagita, y la mangaka Yumiko Igarashi, publicado en Japón por K?dansha Ltd. desde 1975 a 1979. La historia cuenta las vivencias de una chica huérfana llamada Candice "Candy" White. Fue adaptada en una serie de anime por Toei Animation entre 1976 y 1979, que se distribuyó internacionalmente, volviéndose muy popular en muchos países. Ganó el primer premio Kodansha Manga para sh?jo en 1977. Las ventas del manga llegaron a 13 millones de ejemplares.
La serie animada, en clave de melodrama, cuenta la historia de Candy, quien en 1898, el 7 de mayo durante la primavera boreal, es abandonada siendo un bebé en la nieve con una muñeca que tiene el nombre de Candy, de ahí el nombre que le es dado: Candice White, llamada por todos Candy; la misma noche, encuentran a otro bebé Annie. Ambas crecen cerca del lago Míchigan, en LaPorte Indiana, en un hogar para niños huérfanos dirigido por la señorita Pony y la hermana María. En el anime sucede en una noche de invierno, siendo encontrada Annie en primer lugar al pie de la puerta mientras que Candy es encontrada casi de manera milagrosa tirada a un lado del camino en medio de la nevazón a minutos de ser cubierta por la nieve; por haber sido encontrada en una noche nevada la hermana María decide dar a Candy el apellido White.
